Adult Day Center

Our Adult Day Center at Morris View offers comprehensive affordable services that meet the physical, emotional and social needs of seniors and their caregivers. To assist working families and caregivers, we open our doors early, stay late, and provide round trip transportation. Our guests participate in a number of planned therapeutic activities and enjoy nutritious lunch and snacks in a safe and secure environment.

For the Senior:

Spend your day with us as we socialize, get active, and engage in enjoyable activities as a part of our Cornerstone community. Through arts and crafts, storytelling and shared family time, special experiences with volunteers, singing and music, and exercise, every day is a new adventure at Morris View Adult Day Center!

Each day will bring you great memories to share with your family and bring a great night’s rest after all of the day’s activities!

For the Caregiver:

Cornerstone’s Adult Day Center in Morris Plains enables you to balance your many caregiving responsibilities by providing a safe space for your loved one during the day as you work and tend to other responsibilities and duties you may have.

Knowing that your loved one is valued and in great care at the Adult Day Center brings ease as you know that we are committed to seeing our seniors happy and healthy every day!

On-site, our registered nurse works with your doctor to ensure the proper program fit, to explain medications and supplements and possible side effects, and to answer any other health-related questions you may have.

Our affordable sliding fee scale provides options for every budget.

“When Mom goes to the Adult Day Center, she just lights up! Nancy and her staff are exceptional! Thank you for being there for her. I don’t know what I would do without this program.”

Friends of the Blind

The only program of its kind in Morris County, Friends of the Blind helps seniors live a healthy, secure, independent, and stimulating lifestyle. We match trained adult volunteers one-on-one with blind and visually impaired adults to provide support and companionship to:

  • Enhance confidence and self-esteem
  • Maintain maximum independence
  • Overcome barriers
  • Achieve full participation in social, educational, recreational, and employment activities

More specifically, our supervised volunteers act as a second set of eyes and provide assistance with:

  • Reading and writing correspondence
  • Banking and bill paying
  • Locating available resources
  • Providing transportation to grocery stores, doctor’s appointments, and other errands

Our staff and volunteers also provide advocacy for clients and assist with identifying appropriate adaptive equipment, training clients on the use of equipment, and making referrals based on individual need.

Caregiver Outreach in the Workplace

Many of us face the challenge of balancing caring for a parent or loved one with work and raising a family of our own. This stress can take a toll on an individual’s productivity at work. Cornerstone Family Programs’ Caregiver Outreach in the Workplace program offers free, customized, on-site services to employees of local businesses to keep them in their role of caring for an elderly loved one.

Our professional geriatric care manager provides expert advice to employees to assist them to make strong decisions regarding the care of their loved one. Advice and resources on self-care to reduce stress are an integral component of the program, with services including:

  • “Lunch and Learn” sessions on a broad range of topics dealing with aging
  • Tips and resource information to improve skills
  • One-on-one consultations after presentations, with follow-up if necessary
  • Caregiver support groups.

Our informational workshops are offered year-round, with curriculum updates each spring and fall.

Services can be customized for individuals or groups, and provided on-site at your company location, at Cornerstone Family Program’s Elm Street location in Morristown, by phone, or by e-mail.
