Preschool

Morristown Neighborhood House offers year-round care for our youngest children. Enrollment is available for children from 12 mos. through 5 years.

Before School

With many of our parents and guardians working multiple jobs to sustain their incomes and support their families, our doors open at 7 a.m. every day to prepare students for school, with bus stop at the Neighborhood House to take our children of the Morris School District to school.

Morristown Neighborhood House works directly with the Morris School District to integrate lessons that ensure that our students are ready to perform to their fullest potential!

Additionally, we serve breakfast, lunch, and a healthy snack to each student every day so that they learn and grow as our bright scholars.

*Our curriculum is aligned with the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Expectations Standards of Quality and is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families. Morristown Neighborhood House also participates in the US Department of Agriculture’s Child and Adult Food Program.

MNH Afterschool

Morristown Neighborhood House is aware of the resources students need for academic and extracurricular success. In a changing educational world, we offer a state-of-the-art computer lab for our students to complete their homework assignments.

We work closely with the Morris School District to ensure that our children apply skills learned at school beyond the classroom, to serve as a liaison to communicating family needs, and to facilitate open dialogue between school faculty and parents and guardians so that our children perform competitively and to their highest potential.

Project Safe builds and encourages strong character through techniques modeled and practiced daily.

Project Safe is a culturally sensitive program that provides academic skills reinforcement through homework assistance and participation in a variety of enrichment activity until 6:00 p.m., Monday-Fridays during the school year.

Arts and Recreation at the Nabe

In addition to providing our students with academic enrichment, the Neighborhood House understands the importance of recreational activity and discovering extracurricular interests in children.
The Nabe is known for its arts and recreation programs, and for decades, the Nabe has helped many children and teens find their passions and hobbies.

Today, we offer recreational programs including:

  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • Boxing
  • Karate
  • Sports Clinics
  • Visual Arts
  • Guitar and Violin Lessons
    …and more!

We collaborate with organizations including the Morris Arts Council, the Morris County (NJ) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and Morris United Soccer League. Our boxing program, the K.O. Boxing Club, is a member of USA Boxing. Working with these organizations is vital to strengthening all of our recreational programs as we continue to provide opportunities for our children to succeed at the Nabe!

Summer Camp

For nine weeks each summer, the Nabe offers a Summer Camp program that keeps our children safe, happy, and prepared for the school year.

Our summer camp allows our community’s children to explore new opportunities, participate in field trips, and learn through experience while making friends and unforgettable memories!

Summer Camp at the Nabe gives our children a place to go while parents and guardians work. Much like our before and afterschool programs, healthy meals and snacks are provided to our children so that they are energized and ready for each day’s adventures.

Every day at camp is unique and each child is afforded the opportunity to learn and grow during the otherwise slow summer months. Educational field trips and a summer academic curriculum prevent summertime burnout, and enables each child to be fully prepared for the upcoming school year. The field trips are especially fun for our kids as they travel to locations including Liberty Science Center, St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, and even Patriot’s Path near the Neighborhood House to explore local wildlife!

In addition to our campers, Summer Camp at the Nabe is a great opportunity for our Teen Tutors and Mentors to have an enriching summer job experience! Our NabeTeens@Work Program and our Summer Camp Counselors serve as mentors and leaders to our children and, in turn, are gainfully employed for the summer and receive help in money management skills and learn about the responsibilities of holding a job.

From our youngest campers to our college-bound camp counselors, Summer Camp at the Nabe is a one-of-a-kind summertime experience that brings smiles to our children every day!
